Naked discipline

From the beginning of his military career, he recognized the need to preserve the legacy his father Salvador left behind during his 36 years of illustrious military service. I have tried to bear the burden with great care, especially in terms of discipline, so as not to defile that legacy. The officers and soldiers I met always associated mison brand with discipline while wearing uniforms. It was a solid rule to test the restraint and obedience of these uniformed men. Over time, it disappointed my father and ruined his name in the army. In addition to this fear of making mistakes, I adopted biblical principles of leadership and management as a way to do things right. These standards, as if interwoven with the goals I have to achieve, act as lamps that light every path I have had to walk. In my home, I have met a handful of judges and practitioners who share the same principles. Of all the judges I met, one judge stood out. In the late 1990s, he and I were faculty members at the University of Tokyo Law School. Today, Japar Dimaampao is a respected Supreme Court Justice and a light to all those involved in the judiciary. He wanted to study agriculture, but his father encouraged him to study accounting first, then law. The great thing about Judge Japar is that since he wore the black robe, his integrity has been impeccable. In his office there is a large picture frame with the inscription of the Holy Quran 2:255, which among other things says: Who can intervene on his behalf without His permission? I can't understand. His throne contains heaven and earth, and maintaining both does not tire him out.

The Bible Psalm 24:1-2 offers a similar theme. The world and all its people belong to him.
For Justice Japer, his loyal trust in the power and presence of the Almighty God makes him virtually incorruptible. "God is always watching over me," he says.
A disciplined believer, whether Christian or Muslim, enjoys the Creator in many ways that an undisciplined person cannot. His bare chastening freed him from all atheism and nonsense.
When only judges and officials have the attitude "God is watching over me", the decisions of the courts become truly fair and just. As one clergyman said, "From right faith comes right life." Judge Japper's unshakable belief in eternal authority drives him to do right and live righteousness. It is the same consciousness that evokes such forms of discipline in him that keeps him away from things. , it is imperative to gain wisdom and self-control. Judges must not only flee from sin and temptation, but they must seek God and dwell in His word. At the 46th Annual Philippine National Prayer Breakfast in November 2021, Alexander G. “God watches over our lives every day, and what we do with what God has given us,” Jesmund said. , the discipline to avoid external influences is a conscious choice. it won't work. Admittedly, this self-restraint can be difficult to achieve. But the Bible says: But later it will bring forth a harvest of righteousness and peace to those trained by it” (Hebrews 12:11). Even athletes put in years of hard work and training to earn that gold medal. The Greek word for “discipline” is gymnadzo, from which we derive “gymnasium.” It came from a word meaning “naked” because Greek athletes would strip off their clothing so they won`t be hindered from their goal of winning their game. Plainly speaking, in our training for godliness, we have to strip ourselves off of certain hindrances—which include money over principle, depravity over righteousness, and yes, even an extended time pouring through tattle-tales over social media!Discipline warrants some form of difficulty and denial. I could only surmise that my father, back during his stint as Provincial Commander, focused on the goal of leading highly disciplined soldiers in combat, thus denying himself of amity and unnecessary “pakikisama” when he banned his soldiers from drinking alcohol.Part of our goal should be fairly clear: “godliness” which, in Greek, has the nuance of “reverence for God,” growing in conformity with Him. Discipline or self-control, among many other “naked” principles, bears relevant implications in terms of developing a godly speech, godly thought life, and godly actions. Justice Japar exemplifies this principle unmistakably. My selfless tendencies tell me that there are many others like him. It is much easier to find judges and practitioners who use the fear of God as a discipline, as believers do, than it is to find a needle in a haystack.
